About
Benjamin Roulet-Decante
Artist Statement
My practice operates at the intersection of sculpture, installation, and time-based media. Working across various mediums—from cast concrete to 16mm film—I investigate how spaces shape human experience and how memory transforms our relationship to the built environment.
I am particularly interested in:
- The poetics of architectural decay
- The tension between permanence and ephemerality
- The role of documentation in contemporary art
- The materiality of absence and negative space
Biography
Born in 1988 in Lyon, France, I studied at École des Beaux-Arts de Paris and completed my MFA at the Sandberg Instituut in Amsterdam. My work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Contemporary Art Museum (Paris), Museum of Contemporary Art (Lyon), and various galleries across Europe.
I currently live and work between Paris and Brussels, where I maintain a studio practice focused on large-scale installations and limited-edition publications.
